With Omeo at the crossroads, Big River Bridge Campsite is a good option..
Even though it is 47km north of Omeo, Big River Bridge Camping and Picnic Area is one of few around the area I could take the dogs. The sign does say leads required though. Being in and around the Alpine National Park does make dog travel a little tricky.
I stopped here for lunch by the Mitta Mitta river. The dogs had a swim and cool drink while I relaxed on the grassy bank. I had been on my way to a campsite 25km west of Town, or 90km south east of Bright, called Victoria Falls Historic Park. Just after I missed the sign to the campsite, the radio issued a weather warning, so I continued on to a friend’s place in Albury. Hopefully someone will post information and photos on the Travel Sites page.
If you have any information to add about camping in the area, or any other special place, please share it on the Travel Sites page.
